Education costs have soared, deterring many from sending their children to private schools. In response, Yuva Foundation, an NGO located about 15 km from Ranchi, is providing high-level education at an affordable fee of just Rs 260.
This foundation focuses particularly on the education of girls, aiming to integrate them from villages and underprivileged areas into the mainstream, empowering them and making them self-reliant.

Neha, the Child Development Officer at Yuva Foundation, explained to Local 18, “We don’t charge Rs 260 because we need the money. This fee doesn’t even cover a teacher’s salary. We believe that free services often go unvalued. Charging a fee ensures that families understand the importance of education."
The foundation actively seeks out students by visiting nearby areas, with no specific criteria for admission other than financial need. Admission requires an Aadhar card and some essential documents. Currently, more than 200 girls are enrolled, many of whom have advanced to prestigious universities.
Notably, a former student named Seema is now studying Economics at Harvard University on a full scholarship. Other girls have gained admission to esteemed institutions such as Delhi University and Azim Premji University.
In addition to academics, the foundation offers career counselling and scholarship information, helping students identify and pursue their best career options based on their interests.
